Say it isn't so!!!!!!!

My baby girl started pre-school today.  She could not have been more excited.  She picked out her own outfit last night and told us before she went to bed she was so excited to meet new friends and learn.  This morning I asked her what she wanted to do when she grew up.  She said not get married and only kiss daddy for boys.  I think Nick has brain-washed her.  I said well what do you want to do for a job.  She said I will go to college first and figure it out.  Wise beyond her years.  Hopefully that is what the plan stays...  She also randomly told me  if someone says something mean or bad I will turn it around to make it happy.  I asked her like what?  Well if someone is mean to me I will tell them they have a nice shirt.  Could she be any cuter????????  Well I didn't cry dropping her off, but she let me get my pictures in and then she was pretty much done with me.  I had to ask her for a kiss because she was already running off with friends.  She gave me a hug and a kiss and told me it was okay like she was consoling me instead of me consoling her.  What a little lady I have--

My sweet girl

Can't read it very well but, Kenady Kane 8/30/12 1st day of pre-school

Outside the building--she couldn't get in fast enough!

Love...

Just another fun lunch with my two loves!

"If there's ever a tomorrow when we're not together, there's something you should remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you."  I love this between Christopher Robin to Pooh Bear.  God forbid something ever happened to me I hope Klark, Kenady, and Nick know how much I love them!  I'm a lucky girl!  I get to spend everyday with these two sweetie pies and I've never been happier!

It's the little things...

Yesterday we got back from a fantastic vacation with Tanya and John.  It was the first time I'd been away from the kids for more than 3 days.  Luckily we were busy the whole time and when we did hear from the kids it sounded like they were doing good.  On the 12 hour ride home I just kept thinking how much I just love them and how lucky I am to have them.  Those two little people have made me a better person and their hearts are so big.  Pulling into the drive to see them and Klark bouncing up and down and he just came running to me.  He kept telling me he loved me and missed me.  When we got home Kenady snuggled up to me and said she was glad I was home.  The love that those two little ones give is ridicoulous and I'm so lucky to be loved by them.  I decided today that I wanted to do something with them today that we would have no distractions of other people and I could just watch and listen to them.  We went to Hartman Reserve and decided to go on "an adventure" in the trails.  Kenady brought her binocolars and shared them with Klark.  Kenady would make "bird calls" while Klark looked for them to come.  They would help each other and me up and down the paths.  They got excited over an acorn in the path.  They got excited over a bee on a flower.  They got excited going over a "magic bridge".  They got excited watching a squirrel chase another squirrel.  They said they needed to bring their dad there because he would think it was so awesome.  Since I've been home with the kids I've made an effort to make sure the kids are interacting with other kids and going different places.  We have done everything from museums to parks, to the pool, to going to movies, but I have to say "our adventure" today was by far the best thing we've done yet.  Sometimes it's good to just slow down and enjoy the little things in a big way...

Happy 4th Of July!

Klark decided to put some pants on to swim with Maddie
Who's hair is longer?
Grandma Mary and her boy
Ms. 4th of July
Only pic of Kenadys super cute dress

Well Kenady and I were not feeling the greatest the fourth of July so we missed the annual Reinbeck parade.  We went to a pool party at the Miller's in the morning and actually left early because Kenady wasn't feeling well.  We went home snoozed and then headed over to Shane and Trista's.  I got a smile out of Kenady, but other than that I wasn't really up for chasing them around for pics.  Kenady ended up staying with Gma and Gpa Metz for the fireworks and my parents said it was awesome.  Kenady loved the fireworks and got so excited.  She told me her favorites were the big gold ones...those are mine also.  Happy 4th of July!

TC!

We have had a lot of fun at Kindergym this year. It is a lot of fun because Klark goes now also. He isn't to sure about it most of the time, but Kenady was the same way when she started. Kenady now is so into it and does all the excercises. This week was sports week and TC came to visit. Kenady said now that she is 4 she is not scared of him. I could not believe it when she wanted to go get her picture with him. She gave him 5 and stood right by him. We got our picture and then we were walking away she goes oh shoot I forgot to give him a hug. So she ran back and gave him a great big hug. I can't believe how old she has been acting lately.

Birthday Girl

My sweet girl turned 4 on Monday. We had our family over to celebrate and have a "pizza party". She had so much fun with her cousins. Probably her most favorite gift was her jewelry box from Grandma and Grandpa Metz. She loves the balarina that plays music and dances on top. It's hard to believe she is 4 years old already! She is such a little lady and just so sweet. She is defiantly a lover and cares about other people and how they feel. I was going to make her a cake and cupcakes but we got busy so we decided to go to Hy-Vee to see what they had already. After church we went to Hy-Vee and she walked up to the cakes and saw a Hello Kitty cake. I was with Klark and wasn't by the cakes yet but all of a sudden I hear her going Mom mom it's perfect its so perfect. They had just put out a hello kitty cake and we asked the lady to put her name on it. She kept telling the lady that it was just puuurrrfect......... It was so funny. Happy Birthday sweet girl...you make everything better!

Klark

It's been a long time since I posted a pic of Klark and I feel like he has changed so much. It seems like since he has turned 2 he just has taken on a whole new personality. He sings the alphabet all the time and likes to just hear music in general. He has started piano and is very good at Forte! He is a big fan of Max from the show of Max and Ruby. He is still my lover and is def a mama's boy. I don't mind so much. He still loves his Hawkeye Football and enjoys teasing his sister saying Naught Sissy Naughty sissy. When he is looking for Kenady he will yell...Sissy Kennanie sissy Kenanie. Now if he could just stay in his own bed all night he would be the perfect little boy...

This picture Klark just got his haircut today with his dad and they could not look more alike with their hair done. I have two very handsome boys.

Happy Valentines Day

The Kid's Valentines--we punched a hole in and then put a sucker in like a balloon...they turned out really cute.

Today we finished up all of our Valentines and Kenady and I decided to make something specital for daddy. I asked her a series of questions and can't wait to ask her again next year. In 8 days my little girl will be 4 years old. I'm lucky to have some of the cutest Valentines around!

Henry Chippy

The night before Christmas Henry was hiding in a present we decided to open...It was The Night before Christmas book.
Klark thought Henry needed more fish to fish with

The first day Henry brought ornaments for the kids to put on their trees. Kenady got a Hello Kitty and Klark got a Mickey Mouse ornament

Kenady and her ornament

We watched the Shelf on the Elf friday night and Saturday morning he appeared at the table

Klark was excited!

Henry brought some jellybeans, a book for us to read and ornaments to put on our trees

This year we inntroduced the Shelf on the Elf to our house. We had so much fun with it and I kind of wish he was back around some days :). The kids loved loved him! They talked about him all the time and anytime Klark was acting up Kenady would say Henry's watching you baby! That's usually all it would tak efor them to start behaving again. Kenady and Klark named the elf Henry Chippy. We are unable to touch him otherwise he loses his magic and goes to see Santa Claus. Henry Chippy is usually doing something mischevious :).

Love My Family!

I've been slacking posting lately, but I needed to make sure I put this picture in. We had our pictures taken by one of the most beautiful people in and out Miss Lauren Hansen. She is the type of girl who just makes you smile. This picture made my heart smile when I saw it. I am so incredibly grateful for my sweet little family. Klark and Kenady are two of the sweetest little people I know. It's hard to say how I got so lucky with Nick, Klark, & Kenady but I consider myself very lucky to call them my family...

On a less sappy note. Last night Nick and Kenady were rough housing and Kenady blurts out "Watch my nuts Dad, Watch my Nuts". Um I'm pretty sure Nick needs to quit saying that when the kids jump on him, but boy was it funny.

Halloween!

Grandma Mary got the kids matching skelton shirts
On Main Street in Cedar Falls with my little puppy and flying Pony CowGirl Princes

Happy Halloween. This year Klark still wasn't really into the costume, but he ended up wearing his sisters puppy costume. Like the super mom I am I didn't try it on him until we were just get to leave and realized it was a little short...oh well he was still one of the cutiest puppies around. Kenady was changing her mind on a daily basis of what she was going to be but she ended up being a cowgirl princess who rode a flying horse. It worked and she looked cute. The kids got to trick treat in Hudson, around PFGBEST, and then on Main Street the day of Halloween. Their choose of candy was tootsie rolls (lame). This weekend Kenady also informed that we had robbers. I said oh yeah why do say that. I'm missing some toys mom---I guess she did notice I took a bunch of toys to goodwill. Whoops...

We love our horses...

one of our favorite things to do!

He just sits by me and we just talk about the horses...I love it

taking it all in

girls would die for those lashes

one of the beauties we watch

how fun...

One of my favorite things to do is to walk down to the horses with the kids. Klark probably likes it a little more than Kenady does these days, but she still comes sometimes. Today it was just Klark and I that went for a walk. We sat and just watched the horses. They are so beautiful and Klark thinks they are the neatest thing. It's these little moments that when I'm with him that make me realize how lucky I am and how sweet he is. Klark is def my lover...and I hope it never ends.

1st Trick or Treating of the Season

Little puppy by his fire truck
They let him get up in the fire truck

Kenady liked the pumpkin dog!

They were so cute going around--they would say thank you before they even got a piece of candy...may have been the practicing we did in the car when I told them to say thank you...

Kenady has changed her mind many times about what she has wanted to be for halloween from a unicorn, to a flying horse, to a princess. Today we went with a princess who had a flying horse. I thought Kenadys old puppy outfit would be perfect for Klark. I probably should have tried it on before we left to go trick or treating...but it worked. He was so cute and Kenady got a flying horse from the balloon guy! They are so funny...we will see what Kenady wants to be on Friday for her next Halloween party.

Kindergym

This is Kenadys third term of Kindergym and I have to say she is really getting into it this year. Her favorite things are the balance beams and playing with the scooters. This balance beam she was able to put a little hop in her step...she's too funny!

Like clockwork

The popsicles pa gives them is another added bonus of visting the kitties
Kenadys next attempt of taking a kitty home--the bucket method

So proud of her kitties!

I knew the kittie obsession would continue...we could not get out of the car from school fast enough for her to go check out and see how her kitties were doing...

Kitty Kenady

Kenadys attempt to take the kiddies home!

Even Klarky got in on the action.

A proud mama!

Kenady has been waiting all summer to have some kitties at the neighbors to play with and chase around. We got back from our mini vacation and sure enough there finally were some...3 sweet little black kitties. Kenady wanted to take them home!
