Last Night at 234 Desoto

Well it's about 10:20 and in about 24 hours I will no longer live at 234 Desoto Ave. As excited as I am for our new adventure I can't stop thinking of all the memories we've had at this house. This was Nick and I's first home together so it will always have a special place in my heart. I remember coming here after our honeymoon and realizing I live in a house with my husband and didn't think life could get any better. Until about 2 years later when we brought our sweet baby Kenady home. This house has a lot of firsts for us and even though I know we are moving onto bigger and better things I'm a little sad to go. I know Nick will not like the pic I posted but it just reminds of all the times we've snuggled in our little house as a family and how far we've come. So cheers to Desoto and look out Hudson!

17 Months Old!

Dad I need more tooth paste!

Kenady turned 17 months old yesterday. She is growing up so fast. This month she enjoys being outside--she will go to the door if you say outside and gets really excited. Her favorite toy this month is defiantly her Barbie Jeep--she would sleep in it if we let her. She has also started to take her own diaper off when she needs to go to the bathroom which always an experience. I can tell she is starting to understand what we say to her. She doesn't always listen, but she knows what we are saying. She also had to go to timeout for the first time this month because she bit one of the day care kids. She did not like it when I told Grandpa. She also got a new purse this month at the zoo--it has a little puppy in it. She likes to carry it all around. She is quite the diva! There was so many favorites this month it is hard to put in one blog, but one of the funniest is her obsession with brushing her teeth.

Kenady's 1st "Hair Cut"

Kenady had her stylist from Austin, TX over for her 1st hair cut on Friday. I've been wanting one of my best friends, Tara to be the first to cut Kenady's hair. Tara has her own shop in Austin and whenever I see her (which is not enough) I get a haricut from my favorite stylist. We decided to cut Kenadys hair in her jeep because that is one of the few places where she will sit still. She sat really good, but I just couldn't handle it. Kenady is just growing up to fast for me. I only let her clip a little from the back . I decided I wanted to grow her bangs out because if she is anything like her mom she will look silly with bangs.

Kenady wins the Cool Cat Award!

Kenady thought she was cool that she wore these glasses while she ate dinner last night. This kid cracks me up more and more everyday!

Do the Zoo

Happy Birthday Gma Shirley!

We spent most of the day laughing!
Kenady and Grandma Mary's Favorite--the penguins

Studying the fish tank!

This last weekend we had a busy weekend. We had a 95th birthday party for Grandma Shirley and went to the zoo in Des Moines. Grandma Mary, Kenady, and I headed to Des Moines after the birthday party. We did some shopping and then hit the hotel pool. Kenady did really good-she is really liking swimming. She would giggle when the big kids would splash. She thought it was funny to do water boat and kept dipping her face in the water. She did not want to get out! Sunday we woke up and had some breakfast and headed to the Blank Park Zoo. It was so much fun watching Kenady with the animals. She loved the sea lions and the penguins the best I think. She wasn't so sure about the monkeys--I think they reminded her of her dad. We also had a lot of fun in the petting zoo part of the zoo. She got real close to feed the animals and thought it was funny when mommy got scared. She even took a bite of the fish food to make sure it was good enough. What a silly girl--can't wait to go back again!
