Home Alone

Well today was the first day that Nick had to go back to work. He decided to split off his time off the next couple weeks. He had a big presentation today so he had to go in. I'm not going to lie that I was really nervous to be home with both of them by myself all day. Nick helps out so much I just hoped that I would be able to handle it. I'm proud to say that it couldn't have gone better. Kenady and I got some time to ourselves while Klark was sleeping and even took a long bath together. We all had lunch together and they both have on fresh clothes and clean diapers on. I would say today was a sucess!

Baby Assesment

Today we went to free baby assesment at Covenant. Klark had only lost 3 ounces since he left the hospital so that was really good. The nurse said everything looked great--I couldn't agree more. Kenady is really warming up to her brother. She is helpful at getting stuff for us and likes to make sure he has a blanket. We have tried to include into everything like his bath time and changing diapers and she seems to like to help out. Tonite Nick brought the bassinet downstairs and she wanted to get into it. She also spent part of the morning reading books out of his bathtub. I think everyday will get a little easier for her. Tomorrow will be the test when Nick has to go to work to do a presentation and it will be just me and the kids. So far Klark has been about as easy as you can expect for a newborn. He is really laid back like Kenady was. I think Nick and I got hit with the lucky tree--our family could not be any better. I have two of the cutest kids and the best husband ever that is so helpful and loving. Life is good and I can't wait for what 2010 brings to the Kane family!!

Santa Baby

Well the Kane family got the best gift of all on Christmas morning. Our son!! Klark William Kane. He was born at 9:40 8 lbs 11.8 ounces and 21.5 inches long. Christmas eve we had Christmas with the Kanes and then went to church with the Metz's. We decided to go home after church to try to get some sleep. I woke up at about 2 and did some laundry and put away some of the gifts Kenady had got. By about 5:30 in the morning I called upstairs to Nick and told him he should take a shower and we should probably go to the hospital. We got to the hospital at about 6:30 and three hours later our family was complete. I've never seen Nick more proud except for maybe when Kenady was born. Each day Kenady is becoming a little more fond of her baby brother. She has given him some kisses and likes to tickle his toes. She is still a little confused why this baby keeps hanging around. I'm really proud of her though she is adjusting pretty good. Here is the first of many pics of Mr. Klark Kane!! We couldn't be happier with our two babes!!

Santa Baby--22 Months Old

Well I've been holding out to see Santa to have both my babies with Santa, but one just doesn't want to come out and play. So we decided before Santa is gone that we better take Kenady to see him. It started off as very exciting--she liked the colored trees outside his workshop and all the decorations. However she wasn't as fond as Santa.
On Sunday Kenady will be 22 months old and how the time has flown. The last couple days I have been reading old blogs and looking at her scrapbook and just wondering where all the time has gone. I can honestly say though she just keeps getting more fun. This month we have figured out a way to get her hair done in the morning. We ask her if she wants to brush her teeth and she will go into the bathroom and brush her teeth while I brush her hair and wash her up for the day. Most of the time she just likes to get more water on her brush and suck the water out but she has been better about going back and forth. She has also loved the snow this month--she has no fear of it and loves her snowpants. She also had to paint her toes to match mine this month--but on the other hand she picked a CARS race car sleeping bag over the princess sleeping bag. I would say her other favorite this month is cooking. It all started when we had gma mary over to make cookies and it hasn't stopped since. Most the time she is content with us just putting some marshmallows in a bowl and stirring them up with her whisk. It will be interesting with the new baby coming this month I hope she doesn't feel left out and hope she knows that she will always be my girl! I'm sure she will be a great big sister since she is such a great daughter!

Pretty Toes

My mom and I went and got pedicures this weekend and Nick and Kenady decided they wanted one to. Kenady took over Nicks feet by giving him his pedicure. She really got into it using all different kinds of lotions and brushes. Nick was a good sport with it letting her do her magic. Kenady saw my toes and she had to get hers painted as well. So now we have matching toes again!

Baby Mafia!

Well we were hoping for a baby by this weekend, but no such luck. We did have a fun weekend though staying close to home. Friday night Shane, Trista, & Maddie came over to visit and hang out with us for the night. We just relaxed while we watched the baby mafia in action. These two are so funny together!

K-mas Kookies with Kenady

Kenady was in charge of putting the antlers on and noses for the reindeers
Finished project she was very proud

Rolling out the dough!

One of Kenadys masterpieces.

Today Grandma Mary came over to start some Christmas baking. Kenady was asleep for the first part, but as soon as she woke up she wanted in on the action! What a fun day, but now I'm pooped and I'm ready to have a baby!

1st Snow Fall

You can't really tell but every few steps she would reach down and put snow in her cart
Open wide I told her--it was easeier to eat snowflakes
My cutie patootie

Today was the first day of snow for the season--it really makes it seem like Christmas is now around the corner. When Kenady and I got home we decided to check it out. Her and I would catch snowflakes in our mouth and then laugh! Then she decided to get her grocery cart out of the garage and catch collect snowflakes that way. She just loved the snow--she had quite the fit when I told her it was time to go inside!

21 Months Old!

When you put on her socks and shoes she likes you to tickle her toes first!
Relaxing eating crasins one of her favorite snacks!
This was yesterday when she decided to have teddy grahams for a pre-breakfast snack!

Today my baby is 21 months old and won't be the baby much longer. This month she has still been working on going potty in the big girls potty. Just tonite she went and Nick and I got really excited. I think it kinda freaks her out that we get so excited. She has been doing a lot more dancing--she's got a lot of moves. She has also started repeating a lot more and talking a lot more clear. She has the cutest little voice it just makes me smile. She has been playing with her babies a lot more and still likes to read lots of books. I don't think she quite understands that she is going to be a big sister in a couple of weeks, but I'm sure she will be a great one. Regardless of another baby coming or not Kenady will always be my baby!

Sneak Peek!

Puppies like saltines
Puppies read books in bed
Puppies read the newspaper

Well as some of you know the puppy costume that I wanted was out when I went back to get it and I was really disappointed. Today we stopped at a new place that had some costumes and Kenady found a dalmatian puppy she liked. They recommended you try them on since you could not return them. So as soon as I put it on her she got on all 4's in the store and started acting like a puppy. I said okay honey we will get this now lets take it off and get in line. Well, there was no taking off the costume she had to wear it out of the store and into the car. It is now almost 3 hrs later and she will not take it off.

20 Month Beauty!

Which pumpkin do I pick?
More money please!

Pretending to be a goat!
Today Kenady is 20 months old already! I can't believe how fast it has gone and how fun being a mom has been. Today we went to the pumpkin patch and they also had a petting zoo. Her favorite was feeding the animals--or should I say giving mom or grandma the food and we fed the animals while she laughed. This month Kenady is trying to master the potty. We have had a few successful tries but haven't quite mastered it yet. Her favorite food this month is fruit snacks. She still is really into her mega blocks and has been reading a lot more this month. We also have her brother or sisters room ready so she has been trying out the rocking chair and making sure everything works in there. Oh one other thing she started doing this month which I love is she will come up to me and grab my cheeks and kiss me right on the lips and then give me the biggest hug. How lucky am I?!?!?

I can't help it!

I'm sure everyone who reads Kenadys blog doesn't really care if she is going poopy in the potty, but we are on week two and she is just cracking me up. Today she made Nick get off and wanted on so she could read a magazine. As I'm typing this she currently has 6 pairs of underwear on and thats it. She was so mad when we finally made her get off the toilet since she was just reading and it was time to eat. All she wants to do is wear big girl underwear and sit on the toilet. Keep your fingers crossed and hopefully we won't have to babes in diapers! :)

Hawk Fans!

Picking her pumpin out
Nick before he left to tailgate for the day.

Kenady putting on 1 of 5 pairs of big girl panties

It's been an exciting couple of weeks at the Kane household. With the Hawks now being 6-0 we have a very happy daddy around. Every weekend Kenady gets in her Hawk gear and helps chear them on. Without her Hawk gear I'm sure the Hawks would not be doing as good. This weekend we decided that Kenady and I would stay home in the warm house while dad went tailgating and sit outside for the game. I think it would have been fun to go, but something about sitting home in your pajamas in a warm house snuggled up to your little girl won hands down of being the better option. We also got to spend the afternoon with Grandma and she took us to a neat little tea room for lunch. Kenady then got to go back and get check out some of the pumpkins from grandpas pumpkin patch. She kept picking the littlest ugliest pumpkins. We also worked on getting Kenady potty trained. She hasn't quite figured out that you only need to wear one pair of panties at a time. She likes to put them all on at once. What a silly girl!!

Poopy in the Potty

So I just realized I skipped Kenady's 19 month update on the 20th. October came way to fast. This month Kenady is crazy as ever. She is really loving her new house and thinks every room is her room. As far as her favorites this month I would have to say her mega blocks and cherry tomotoes. She really likes to build stuff with her blocks she got from the Cutsforths. She also has found a new favorite food...cherry tomatoes from Gma Mary's garden. She just gobbles them up!! Today was a big day because she took a poopy in the potty and mommy had to do the poopy dance which Kenady was very impressed. We had just got home and she brought me the wipes. I said honey you don't have a dirty diaper and she took me to the bathroom and we got on her Dora seat. Sure enough she took a poopy. Have a roll of toilet paper later she was done and I was so proud!!! My girl is just growing up to fast!

I love Bath Time

Tonite our kickball team got their first win of the season we are 1-1. Go Dunder Mifflin! I chased around Kenady while Nick ran around the bases. Nick and Kenady got home and were tired and thought they needed a bubble bath before bed. They are super silly!

Daughter like Father

Thursday nights is Nick's golf night with the guys so Kenady and I usually just relax and do girl stuff. Tonite I think she missed her dad. We got home and she started looking for Nick in all the rooms saying Dad Dad Dad. Then I told her that daddy was golfing. We went downstairs to play and she decided it was her night to golf also. She got in her Ball Pit and used her golf club to hit all the balls out. Then after she brushed my hair and tried to put pony tails in my hair she decided that was enough girl stuff and she needed to work on her Lion car. I have no idea where she was hiding a screw driver, but she found one and started working on her Lion car like she knew what she was doing. I don't think she has decided yet if she wants to be a Tom Boy or a girly girl. I think she likes the best of both worlds!

Lovin the Lake!

Kenady and Dad getting ready to fish!
Fishing with Dad!
This is the only pic I got of my cutie patootie Lauren--she loves me!
Good morning sleeping heads--Kenady watching cartoons with her friends!

This last weekend we went down to our friend Shan's families lake house in Missouri. We had a great time and it was fun to spend some time with our friends and their kids. It seems like we spend less time together now that we all have kids, but I thought it was fun to see them all and play with them. We are lucky to have great friends and I can't wait to watch all the kids grow up together!
